Why it’s a standout email:
The truth is that I could have picked any one of Litmus’s emails randomly and they’d qualify as “standout emails” because it’s obvious that each one is crafted impeccably, visually delicious with content that’s truly useful to their audience.
Litmus is a web-based application that provides email testing and analytics to senders of email marketing campaigns. The app allows you to preview your emails to see how they will look on various devices so that you can optimize them for optimal display. It also allows you to test for deliverability issues and access a bunch of really useful performance and usage metrics.
With mobile opens increasing over the past year by 24% (from 41% to 51% of total opens), Litmus’s blog has been a regular ‘go to’ resource for marketers to stay abreast of trends in mobile email usage. Of course Litmus’s own newsletter employs a variety of best-practices and responsive design elements that typify mobile-friendly emails, including a single column layout, blocks of color to easily distinguish between sections, mobile-friendly color schemes, well-spaced email elements, text and images that are easy to see and links and calls-to-action that are easy to click on when viewed on mobile devices.
And if imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then Litmus, consider yourself flattered because some of your newsletter design elements have inspired The Best of Email’s own newsletter. 😉
