There are many creative ways to display product shots beyond just plonking them on a page. Displaying them using an animated GIF – as Crocs have done in this newsletter – is just one one those ways, but it works because:
1. Adding motion inside the email (tastefully) makes it more interesting visually and therefore highly engaging
2. Displaying several alternating product shots in a looped animated GIF psychologically implies that there are many products to see, and the option to choose from a large variety is appealing
3. It’s fun and makes you want to click on it!
